Frequently Asked Questions

The questions we hear most often about our solutions, the way we work and our compliance processes. If you cannot find your answer here, write to us.

What would you recommend for a supermarket chain with 20 stores?

For businesses at this scale we recommend our cloud-based solution. With the Payment Gateway, your checkouts and ERP connect to every payment method through a single integration, and each transaction is routed to the most cost-effective provider according to the rules you set. The BKM TechPOS application runs bank cards, meal cards and gift card schemes together on the same device. The right setup depends on your current infrastructure, and we work it out together in the first meeting.

What happens to the fiscal cash registers and POS devices (ÖKC) we already have?

We do not propose a migration that forces you to discard your current devices. Our payment applications are managed through the same interface and the same parameters regardless of the ÖKC or e-document method your organization uses, and the terminal communicates with the checkout and front-office systems in the store. The best approach is to review your existing device estate together and plan a gradual transition.

Which banks can I work with?

The BKM TechPOS ecosystem currently includes 25 member banks and payment institutions, all reachable through a single application. You work with every bank through the same interface and the same transaction set, including installments and loyalty points. As the owner of the POS, you decide which bank to work with, and the Payment Gateway makes it possible to work with several banks and payment institutions at the same time.

Are you integrated with meal card schemes?

Yes, from both directions. On one side we build the meal card systems themselves — we have worked in this field since the Multinet project in 1999. Pluxee, Edenred and TokenFlex are among the organizations we actively deliver solutions for, and we know their systems well because we built many of them. On the other side, in store, meal card applications run on the same terminal through the BKM TechPOS application, with no separate device needed.

How can we get started?

The process starts with an initial meeting where we listen to your needs, the number of stores and terminals, and your current infrastructure. We then present an assessment covering the scope, the integration points and the timeline. You can start through the form on our contact page or by phone.

Do you work with cash registers?

Yes. The terminal is built to communicate with the cash register and front-office systems in the store: amount entry and receipt matching become automatic, reducing the risk of cashier errors. On the Payment Gateway side, your cash register and ERP system also connect to every payment method through a single integration.

What exactly does Konfides do?

We develop software for payment technologies. Our focus is on non-banking closed-loop payment systems, EMV-compliant POS software, manageable payment gateway infrastructure and payment-focused mobile applications. Our team’s experience in this field spans more than 30 years.

What does “non-banking closed-loop payment system” mean?

These are systems where the card, the balance and the transaction operate outside the bank card schemes, within a defined merchant network. Meal cards, campus cards, public transit cards and corporate loyalty programs are typical examples. The whole flow — card and transaction management, the merchant network, order and invoicing processes and reporting — stays under the organization’s own control.

Which sectors do you work with?

Mainly organized retail, meal cards and employee benefits, public transit, education campuses and corporate payment intermediaries. The milestones on our About page describe the projects we have delivered in these areas.

What do BKM TechPOS and EMV compliance mean?

EMV is the international standard for chip card payments; BKM TechPOS is the local certification framework that POS terminal software must comply with in Türkiye. Our POS software is developed in line with these regulations. Thanks to our hardware-agnostic layered architecture, the same application can run on terminals from different manufacturers.

Can you integrate with our existing systems?

Our solutions are designed to work with external systems such as ERP, accounting, CRM and checkout/POS systems. The scope of the integration depends on your current infrastructure; we clarify it together in the first meeting.

How do you handle data security and regulatory compliance?

Our information security management system is certified to ISO/IEC 27001 and our quality management system to ISO 9001. Personal data is processed under the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK); the details are set out in our Privacy Notice. Whether our solutions run on your own servers or in our cloud, we never store credit card data.
